Mid-August, the air thick and charged between two major thunderstorms. Brooklyn Bridge Park, then back through DUMBO on foot — the heat radiating off the pavement, the smell of hot dogs drifting through the humidity. Walking, camera live, the way it always begins.
And then a row of silhouettes lining up perfectly outside Brooklyn Ice Co. Some things simply present themselves.
Brooklyn operates on its own terms — bold, architectural, unapologetic. Monochrome was the only honest read. The line of silhouettes, the vertical striations of Stretch Theory, the dramatic light splitting the street in DUMBO, the swirling thermal energy of Urban Convection — each image a different note from the same extraordinary afternoon.
